As social media enthusiasts around the world unite for Social Media Day, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible growth we’ve experienced with our community’s help over the past three years.
Social media has enabled us to come together in a new and exciting way to share the news, stories and events important to the university and to the individuals who help to define what it means to be a Quinnipiac Bobcat.
We are featuring more stories in more types of media from our students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and neighbors every day on our flagship social accounts — and being recognized as one of the most savvy social media universities in America for such. If we’re not connected, please consider connecting with us. We’re regularly updating: Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, WordPress and @QuinnipiacU on Instagram.
As you browse these platforms, you will see stories from members of our community doing interesting, important and innovative work both on our three campuses as well as around the world. You will hear their voices through the increasing number of videos, blog posts, stories, retweets and shared posts.

Social media has allowed us to feature our students in everyday situations, including enjoying a beautiful day on Bobcat Way.
To the thousands of community members who have already shared news and views with us: Thank you! We appreciate your time and your perspective. You have provided a new, unrivaled level of coverage and insight of events ranging from freshman orientation to commencement to reunion that we could not have covered as well without you.
One of the things I love the most about Quinnipiac is the remarkably high level of involvement of our community across our campuses and around the world.
It seems like everyone is doing astonishing things. Social media helps us to share our community’s accomplishments in a way we never have been able to before.

Social media has enabled us to bring members of our community to events they might not have otherwise been able to attend, including our annual School of Communications’ Fred Friendly First Amendment Awards Luncheon in Manhattan.
As wonderful as social media is, it does have one major restriction. In order to share news, we need to know about it in a timely manner.
I encourage all students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families to let us know when you are doing something of note. While we cannot share every bit of news, we could feature a lot of it.
Please do not hesitate to email me at jamie.deloma@quinnipiac.edu or call me at 203-582-3479.
We want to share your story — preferably before you complete your task.
We also want to share your experiences. Are you going someplace interesting? Are you living your dream? Are you wearing Bobcat garb someplace unique or off the beaten path?
It is our community that defines Quinnipiac University. It has been an honor to help showcase the university to its members and to our neighbors. I look forward to continuing to meet new members of the university and to sharing your stories.
See you online!
