Professor Lisa Burns offers insight on Romney’s ‘talk-show couch’ campaign

Lisa Burns, a professor in the School of Communications whose area of expertise is how the media covers first ladies, is available to comment on Ann Romney co-hosting “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

“Ann Romney is continuing the ‘talk-show couch’ campaign this week when she serves as a guest host on ‘Good Morning America,’ which has been topping the morning show ratings in recent months,” Burns said. “This is another opportunity for Mrs. Romney to share personal stories about her husband with a large audience, with the goal of closing the “likability gap” that continues to exist between Romney and President Obama.”
